My siamese gave birth to two kittens so far. Both born dead. One was not even fully formed. It was like it was half-done. Just this brown blob and you could see all four legs. The other was fully formed, but still-born.

May possibly be giving birth to another, as she still seems to be having contractions.

ETA: We took the dead kittens away from her. She tried so hard to get life into the one, but by the time we found her it was as cold as ice and nearly dry. She is kinda upset that we took the away from her, but I couldn't bear to watch her try and save it. =[

Cat number two shouldn't be to far behind her then. Looks like she will be moving into the cage soon.

She seems to be a good mother...

You want perhaps to take in someone motherless? It could be a way to save something from the catastrophe, turn it into at least a part victory.

But observe there is some risk of contagions, so accept foster kittens only from people you trust on.
Which one is she? Your resident? or the stray you adopted? If stray, she is prob quite tough against infections. More than a typically domestic inside cat.
Strays who arent tough dont survive very long.

If taking in motherless fosters dont come on question, your females will prob be nursing the second litter together, if they are friends. Good this too.

Good luck to your moms and you!

She has always been a great mother.

She is a siamese mix. I don't believe she is full, esp since her litter-mates were all solid black. I had spay's scheduled, but I had them scheduled for me when I had time to get them there and to be able to pick them up. Looks like my timing was off abit.

This litter of kittens was unexpected as I was away and she was let outside. So not until just a couple of weeks ago I noticed she was pregnant. This litter of kittens as well as the other cat's litter were not expected and not really wanted as money is very tight with school and a disabled parent.

The fact that they are both pregnant put a strain on emotions. Was told both females need to go or spayed ASAP. No more babies.

I would love to foster a motherless but I know I couldn't. At this time it will just be to much.
Hopefully, once out of school I will be able to foster some.

I imagine I will spend the night comforting my poor Baby, as she is so sad and lost and can't figure out why I took her babies. She is following me everywhere meowing for them. I think she knew something was wrong as she came looking for me after they were born. I followed her and found the babies.

It's not impossible that she still might have more kittens. I've seen that happen.

I'm so sorry
I've had some premature ones too, and it is a very sad thing... Especially when she would have such a good mom...

Thanks for the kind words. Very much appreciated.

Well, she didn't have anymore kittens.

Last night was the first night that she ever slept that close to me. She usually sleeps on the foot of my bed or on the floor beside the bed. This time she slept on my pillow with her head on my shoulder all night. Got woke up this morning by her cleaning my forehead. I gave her lots of love last night and this morning.

Loved having her sore belly rubbed all night. She'd roll over onto her back like a dog does and wrap her front legs around my arm and purr away and rub her head on me.

She still tries to look for them, but she isn't frantic like she was last night.

I'm so sorry to read about your loss. I too had a little girl who lost two babies...they were born alive and died over night
it's a very rough time espeically for a cat who would be a good mother. It took Nahla a good month before she stopped calling for them. She has become alot more attached to me afterwards. Just give her lots of Love and hopefully her and your other mommy are close and maybe she will allow her cuddling time. My Suuri has 5 one week old babies now and she lets Nahla cuddle with them all the time. It's so sweet
I will post a picture for you. I hope everything works out for you. Sending many good vibes your way.... if you have any questions about the grieving my cat did you can always PM or ask here
