Both are no-grain and high-protein and I was under the impression that the 95% would have more protein but reading the labels, the protein % is actually lower than the regular. This is for the chicken and turkey flavor.

And same question applies to other no-grain brands. I checked out Wellness no grain and the protein % didn't seem to better than the ones with grain.

I figure it has to be because I'm not interpreting the labels correctly. Help?

I believe the regular Evo has more protein because it has more protein sources (fish, eggs, etc) and it also contains chicken meal, which is more concentrated, so I would assume contains more protein than meat with moisture. Both are awesome foods, so I would just go with which ever one is cheaper or which ever one your cat prefers.

"EVO Turkey & Chicken Formula" has more protein than "95% Chicken & Turkey" because it formulated for cats and kittens while the "95% Chicken & Turkey" is made for adult cats.

"EVO 95% Chicken & Turkey Canned Cat Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for adult maintenance"

"EVO Turkey & Chicken Formula Canned Cat & Kitten Food is formulated to meet the nutritonal levels established by the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) cat food nutrient profiles for all life stages."

95% Chicken & Turkey also has less carbs (Carbohydrates NFE (max) 0.46 %) than the kitten/cat formula (Carbohydrates NFE (max) 1.01 %)

Thanks Luci for pointing out the difference.

And yes, the suggestion to go with whichever the cats prefer is a good one--except the moppets prefer dry food! So if it was up to them they would never see another Evo or Wellness can again. But as long as I can "trick" them into eating their wet food twice a day, the cans will be brought home.

I found a lesser quality wet with little to no grain is recieved better than either Wellness or Evo by my "eww I do not want wet food cats"

oh and my budget likes the 65-75% savings
