WRONG FORUM!! I thought I clicked The Cat Lounge! Sorry! Preggo brain!

We got our ultrasound yesterday, no doubt about it, he's a boy!!

My MIL made me cry though, stupid hormones. She's the sweetest woman ever, and would never hurt my feelings on purpose. But she had two boys, and her oldest just had a boy. So when we told her it was a boy she called and was on speakerphone and she said "WHY are you punishing me!?" I said "Having a grandson isn't a punishment!" and then I realized I was gonna cry so I stopped talking.

It was a joke, a bad joke. But the thing is, I know there was a little truth to it. The thought that anyone feels disappointment at his existence just breaks my heart a little. Especially his grandma. But, she doesn't normally do insensitive things like that, she's a sensitive person, so she's careful. I'm not mad at her, but I did tell her later that she hurt my feelings.

Anyway, Jon and I are THRILLED! We would have been either way. We don't have any names picked out yet. It's just so crazy to think that there really is a little human living in me. Here's some of the ultrasound photos.

Congratulations on finding out that your little bub is a sweet little baby boy! Even in just the ultrasound pictures, it's obvious that he is absolutely precious and adorable. There's no way anyone could not be excited and in love with that sweetheart. And, I'm sure that his grandma will fall head over heels in love with him as soon as she lays her eyes on his angelic face (though I can see how her comment, however innocuous she meant it to be, would be hurtful).

I love that those TCS members who are pregnant are sharing their pregnancies with us. It's such a miraculous and special time in your lives and I'm grateful to be able to witness it -- even if it's through a computer screen.

Congrats again. Now it's time to think of names! How fun is that?!

Wow! Ultrasound has changed since I had my last kid 12 years ago. Congratulations - a couple of mine are boys, and most of the time they have been true blessings...

I really LOVE the name Beckett. I think it's really original, and I just like how it sounds. But Jon doesn't like it.
He really likes the name Dylan, after Bob Dylan (we're both big fans). I don't know. I know the middle name will be Willis after my dad. We'll eventually agree on a first name.

They did the regular ultrasounds too, where you can see the bones. They called it a structural ultrasound. (I think...), and then the ones I posted were of the tissue, which I think, was just for parents, because I don't think she checked anything.

Edit: Oh, there's one of the structure ones at the bottom. Forgot about that.

Oh, I love the name Beckett, too! I've never heard it. It's unique, plus it reminds me of Beckham (as in David Beckham). Beckett Willis would be beautiful, if DH gets on board with it.

Thanks! His cousin's name is Jackson, I think they'd be so cute running around together, little Jack and Beck.
