My 9 week old kitten has suddenly and inexplicably become incredibly nervous and jumpy. Before today she was very playful and affectionate, but when I picked her up this afternoon she scratched me quite badly and jumped away. Since then, she's been extremely jumpy and timid, not only with me but she accidentally backed into something and just the light touch from it caused her to jump really high and hiss. For a few minutes earlier she was letting me pat her again, but then she suddenly became nervous again. I don't know what's wrong with her, please help!

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Did something happen that scared her? How long have you had her? Did she take a trip to the vet prior to her being scared?
I'm not sure if something happened - she does fall over a lot so maybe she was playing and scared herself. I've had her for 3 weeks. No vet trip.
Update: this morning when I woke up she was totally fine, snuggly and playful, but then all of a sudden she just became nervous again.

I highly recommend a vet check. You mention that she "falls down alot" - this is abnormal for a kitten. Also the suddenness of the change sounds medical to me -possibly nervous system/neurological system - but if you are lucky a simple ear infection can cause balance problems and is very painful.
