My Patches is a 3 year old feral kitty who has been inside with me since November in her own room. She is currently shedding her winter coat. Batman - one of her kittens actually - likes to greet her with licks. He is trying to groom her and get all this sheddy fur off of her and in doing so, he'll end up with big blobs of fur in his mouth. Poor little guy, just trying to make her look pretty, and he's ending up with a fur mustache.
I cannot brush Patches but it's apparent she really really could use some brushing. Batman and Patches haven't had any hairballs but I won't be surprised if Patches' fur causes them both to have one eventually.
Any suggestions on any foods/treats or stand-up scratchers or anything I can do to help Patches with her shedding winter coat, keeping in mind that I cannot touch her (so I cannot brush her)? Hopefully this makes sense. Sorry for a weird question.

Edit: Both kitties are eating Wellness Complete Health dry. Batman gets 3oz of wet food daily - Patches has been rejecting wet food so I temporarily gave up on it. She drinks a lot though so that is good.
