Long story short my boyfriend and I came across a beautiful and perfect rescue for our home and he finally agreed to my getting another dog. So this dog may be mine unless she gets adopted by someone else before I can get her but I am calmly (well calm in a panicked way lol) leaving that up to fate.

And yes… I am aware I may never get my German Shepherd…. But everyone including me knew Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d end up with another rescue lol Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m just too sensitive I guess.

So… I need a name… if she was a boy id have a few including Dexter, Hannibal, Kruger considering that my boyfriend and I are real horror movie/show/book nuts… but when it comes to a girl… Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m clueless!!

This pichure absolutely does not do her justice…. She is actually one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen and I would love to name her Bella… but thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s so common for a dog, Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m a weird and unique person I like it that way.

I was also thinking Gaea, meaning Mother Earth but my boyfriend hates that. So we thought Roxy since it would go with the other animals, or even Nibbles because itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s such a cute name… but nothing really stands out for me…

I really like the name Kruger though lol my friend said to name her that but use a pink collar so everyone knows sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a girl lol… but sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s too pretty!

So ya…. An hour after I told you this was a short story…. Lol… here is her pic.

Ohhhh what great names!! Thanks guys. I really liked Tasha but my bf said no since thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s the name of the dog we were going to rescue previously and wanted something brand new.

Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m now thinking of something Hebrew like Adira, or Navaah meaning Gentle and Beautiful.

Not sure though!! Funny, I have sooooo many names for a male, but when it comes to females Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m totally lost.

Hope everything works out for you!

I know how you feel about female vs male names. I took me about two minutes to name my male dog, but it took me forever to name my female German Shepherd.

Anyway, here are some suggestions that I like:

- Willa
- Lola
- Della (similiar to Bella, but still unique)
- Ava or Eva
- Rio
- Amara
- Jayda
- Astra
- Ruby
- Moxy
- Chloe
- Nova

Why not give her a boys name? one of my dogs is Bryony but she gets called Brian all the time (she is named after Brian in Family guy) and if you notice in my sig I have a dog called CulottÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] it meens cheeky but in this area it also meens knickers
I would live with the dog for a few days and see what name fits her. By the way my pig is called Dexter.

Just thought what about Pearl after Pearl Heart

She is a nice looking dog hope you get her.

she looks like a beauty

I'd say wait until you bring her home and name her after you've gotten to know her personality. It took me 3 days to finally name Madison, (he's a boy mind you, with a girls name) and go figure I brought home a female dog named Sassy, and we mostly call her Bill.

I've always liked the name Frankie for a girl, you can even consider it to be short for Francesca.

btw, she looks like she has shepard in her, any ideas on what her mix is?

Hi All,

Thanks again so much for the names for this beauty (They say she is a lab/shep, but Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m pretty sure she has Rottie in her)… unfortunately the SCPA screwed me over to say the least. I had called about a month ago for that senior I wanted to adopt and asked if I could put a dog on hold for the night in order to get things together… they said no, under no circumstances will they do that… I asked even if I pay in full… still the answer was no, under any circumstances.

The day I was going to adopt I confirm that on the website… it said no, they will not hold. I went in that day to buy her (after buying hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, taking vacation days I canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t afford since I havenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t seen my family in 6 months, setting up training, etc) I went in and they told me she was on hold for another couple… I told them what was told to me and they didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t even say anything, just stared at me. Like seriously… just silently stared at me.

I was so upset that night… but I canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t even say anything… how do you complain to a charity Lol they do more in one week then I will in my lifetime to save animals… I have to respect that and learn from it if I find a new dog. Learn to be more agressive i guess and demand what i want.

Anyway, thanks again so much… we had decided on Navaah, maybe the next one =) Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m happy to know at least my boyfriend is open to find a new dog as long as she/he fits in with our zoo.

I am so sorry that it didn't work out. That really sucks. Maybe it happened for a reason, maybe you will end up with a dog that really needs and love you.

I like the name, my niece's name is Nevaeh. The word "heaven" backwards.

That's a shame. The only thing I can think of is that maybe if you've never adopted from them before and this couple had, that they might treat people differently. Also volunteer organizations aren't like companies with strict procedures - different people may do things differently and not even know what the policies are. I'm sure they get people all the time who say they want to adopt and ask them to hold a dog for them and then they are no-shows. I doubt that being more aggressive will help but maybe if you go in every so often with little donations, like towels and blankets you're not using, treats, toys etc they will come to see you as a familiar face and be more willing to add you to their inner circle (if they have one).

All that stuff you got won't go to waste as I'm sure there is a dog out there waiting for you. Good luck, it took me MONTHS to get a doggy so I understand the frustration! It was worth it though!

Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve actually adopted 3 animals there and have been a regular volunteer for about three years now. I have casual, acquaintance type relationships with the workers for these three years. I have participated in a few of the shelter events. They know me well enough. I really think that they just have too much to do and it causes them to become very unorganized. At least from what I have seen. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m pretty sure they didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know the couple either since when we went to go see her all the workers thought the other couple didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have their application submitted yet.

I really think it was all a misunderstanding, apparently there isnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t even a man that works there that is supposed to be talking about adoptions… I spoke to a man. So many things went wrong, so I guess it really wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t meant to be. I guess I have to wait patiently for my next best friend to come into my life… I just hope its sooner then later!

WOW. Never mind what I said then, jeeze, they should have known you and trusted you! It does sound like one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. At any rate if the doggies end up with good homes that's all that counts. I'm sure your doggy is out there and you'll be ready to give him or her a great home.
