Tomu is a very handsome cat. Your sister's coworker must be visually impared.

My Jesse is a bit odd eyed due to having been whacked in the head by a car as a kitten. He's not ugly though, he's....unique.

The cat in that pic is a sphynx.
No reg cats do not look like sphynx when they are shaved.
Sphynx have way more wrinkles.
They are very friendly cats.
I like Cleo so much that I now have 3 sphynx.
i've only met one sphynx, at a cat show, and i remember her being the sweetes things i've ever met and she was gorgeous

I used to think Sphynx cats were ugly until I saw Jackie's kitties. I no longer think they are ugly, but very cute and unique. The lady I got my two from described Dusty as "ugly like her mom" Mom was a beautiful tortie. I told the lady "Rat" the name of the Mama for her long tail that she was adorable. She stated that I would like her daughter. I love my pretty Dusty, even with her deformed tail (it appears it was broken at the base either in the womb or during birth. It also has a couple of kinks at the tip.) Rusty is kinda cute too.

She was showing them pics of my cats and they said that Tomu looks ugly because he has so short nose?! The whole cat-conversation started when some of the workers had visited someone who has Exotics and my sister told them that I also have 'pure breds' and they wanted to see pictures.

This is what Tomu looks like:
I can't believe they could say that
...Tomu is one of my favorite kitties on this site - I love his ears!
I don't think there's such a thing as an ugly cat, just unique cats.

ugly doesn't = unloveable, sometimes it makes them more cute than anything.

its kind of like the taboo of an ugly baby, no one wants to admit it, but it does happen, and you just kind of grin and walk away as quickly as possible.
Exactly. There are, but it doesn't really matter to those of us who own less attractive pets.

For all of those who say otherwise. Look at what cats people ooh and ahh over more. You're probably guilty of it yourself.

My Siri isn't pretty, far from it. She has a scrunchy face, which she likes to make scrunchy-er faces at you with, her bottom jaw has a bit of an underbite - which makes her face look weirder, pretty prominent balding below her ears (lots of black cats get that), and she has tiny ears - the left one is even torn. But she's my kitty and I do adore her... except for when she's being mean to the other cats.
She also has short legs and a squat body (she just bounced off my leg trying to jump into my lap - silly little cat). Her strong point, physically, is that she does have one of the softest and sleekest coats I have ever seen on a cat and she, more than the others, loves to be petted.

The others are varying degrees of ok-cute and extra snuggly. But it's Sherman that people always comment on.

Shoot me, but IMO there are ugly cats, just like there are ugly people, ugly dogs, ugly babies...
It doesn't mean they are to be mistreated, or unloved... The fact that I love cats, doesn't mean I can't find some beautiful and some ugly.
Granted, it is very very very very very, extremely hard for me to find an ugly cat, but I have seen it...

There are definitely "ugly" cats out there, but usually it's their lack of beauty that makes me want to love them even more.

There's a stray kitty that occasionally shows up with my ferals who isn't particularly pleasant to look at - his face looks like he's been in a heap of fights, his fur is patchy and balding, and he looks like a mess. But it makes me want to trap him even more and take care of him because I know it's because he's had a hard life. He's been avoiding my traps though

Around the bend!
We have a cat who lost the top half of both his ears to frostbite years ago. Anytime anyone sees him they tell me he's funny/ugly looking. I just tell them "And to think, he most likely feels the same about you, too."

I have had people walk into my home, see my Sphynx, and comment "Oh, what an UGLY cat"

Before long tho, she is loving up on them.. and they are threatening to steal her from me!

People always point at the window and ask what is that.
Sometimes they ring the bell.
Cleo was called a giant rat at one of the shows.
People ask if they are dogs also and I was asked if Cleo was a bird on here.

Yes there are ugly people, but they can do something to help take the ugliness away such as slapping on some makeup or plastic surgery etc... poor animals can't. (Seriously, you haven't seen me without makeup on because i scare myself!!)

I think the word ugly should be changed to "different" because i would truly hate one of my kids being called ugly
