One Kitten?

I'll be getting a kitten in a couple of weeks.
I was wondering something though.
The lady who is giving him to me asked if I wanted
to take his brother to. I would really like to but
I know the cost of all vet stuff would be double.
I'm not so sure I could afford to pay for two.

Would It be okay to just have one kitten?
Or would he be better with his brother?
I know I want to have a strong bond
with the kitten. I'd be giving him
plenty of attention and love.
But would he want a friend to play
with instead?

Each cat has its own individual personality. There are some who really prefer being an only cat and others who want lots of companionship. If you think you can't afford a second cat, then I would say stick with just one. You don't want to have to rehome the kitten after a few months because of financial difficulties.

Good luck with you new kitten. We'd love to see pictures when you get him.

Not just the vet bill will be double - everything will be double - food, litter, etc. I agree it would be painful to have to rehome a cat because of money.

It's okay to just get one cat.

Some cats prefer to be alone and some cats prefer to have a companion. However, if you can only afford one, just get one.

Play with your new kitten every day at a set time. Feed at the same time, etc. Cats love to have a schedule and your kitten will soon adjust to being the only cat. If he has only been with the litter for about 2 months the bond is there but in time he will forget. Good luck with your new kitten.

We'd love to see pictures of your new kit!

If you can only afford one, it's definitely okay to just get one.

I will say though, I thinking having two is less work than having one. We got sibling rescues and they LOVE each other. They follow each other room to room, keep each other company while we're at work all day, and practically sleep on top of each other. We've never had a single behavior issue with either one and we attribute a lot of that to them getting so much attention from each other, that they don't need as much from us. By the time we get home from work, they're tired from playing and just want to cuddle and snuggle with us.

Oh okay, Thanks everybody.

I think my best option is just the get one.
Then maybe later on introduce a new one.

I have had one cat before she was female.
She did really well on her own though she didn't
like other cats later on except her own kittens.

She was a sweetheart. Loved people.
I hope my new kitty will be the same.
Ill just get lots of toys for him to keep him
occupied while I'm not home!
