We had a second hand baby bath last pregnancy and Stumpy decided to use it as a scratching post and it got all carved up, so we threw it out.

A friend gave us a baby bath a couple of weeks ago which has been sitting in the baby room, and I heard a noise from the room and discovered SMUDGE was using it as a scratching post....

I'm guessing the fact that it's a similar elevation to their cardboard ramp, and I guess the non-slip padding is kinda similar makes them not get the difference

Another friend has offered their baby bath to us as well, so I guess I'll be taking her up on the offer!

Whatever works huh?
I've given up on having ANYTHING nice for long. We have to put our shoes up because Elliott likes to claw shoes, especially leather ones.

YIKES! We always kept our's in the hallway and no one would touch it. They wouldn't sleep in it either. I was shocked Connor never sprayed.

You could still use it.
Just put a towel in there in the water before putting the baby in it, so it's nice and soft and very, very slip-proof! Those little ones can be squirmy in the water, and you get that soft skin wet and they are slicker than a greased pig!

I'll certainly still keep it as a backup - I told my other friend that we already have a bath, so to only give it to us if she has nobody else to give it to who could use it. She's pretty desperate to get rid of all her baby stuff, her littlest one is nearly 1 1/2 years old now.

I keep mine upside down in the spare bathroom. Helps it drain. I second the idea of putting a towel in it. I have the darnedest time washing Tressa's hair in hers because she's looking all around, therefore sliding all over as I try to shampoo or rinse! Which makes water run down into her ears! It was easier when I was giving her sponge baths on the counter! I've started hanging her head over the sink like I did with them and then putting her in the tub for the rest of her bath. Whatever works!
