I'm totally freaking out right now. I don't have time to tell the whole story, but I can't find Mochi anywhere in the house. I checked both upstairs and downstairs, closing the door to every room after I looked through them. It IS possible (slim, but possible) he got outside as my grandparents live downstairs and they recently opened and closed the door.

What do I do? I walked around the block and can't find him. I need to go look some more right now. Meanwhile, I'd really appreciate any tips. I am panicking. Thanks.

Check cupboards. If your cat has a favorite treat, shake the bag to entice him out. He is probably hiding. Cats are very good at finding hiding places.

Cats ARE good at finding hide-aways, and not only that they camouflage themselves well too. Hopefully he's just taking a deep nap somewhere special and doesn't want to be disturbed.

Do you remember the last time you saw him?

What draws him? The sound of the laser red dot being picked up perhaps?

How big is he? Look inside furniture too, such as up in bed springs, or under the couch, those type of places.

OMG, we found him - he was downstairs the whole time! My grandparents said they never saw him go down there and we searched down there, too, but didn't see him. I did check all the drawers, closets, under the beds, behind furniture, etc. I have no idea where he hid although they have a lot of clutter down there, but I was freaking out because he is a former outdoor cat (before I adopted him) and figured he would bolt out the door at any chance he gets. I looked and looked through the neighborhood and was ready to cry. It didn't help that a bunch of white fur blew past me (it's windy) and the house behind mine in the alley had a BIG pile of pure white fur on the ground. We thought he got out and got attacked!

Then when I came home, I saw him peeking at me a few minutes later. I can't even describe how happy I was. WHEW! That was a big scare and for now, I have a collar and bell on him. Thanks guys! I'm still wondering where the heck he could have been hiding. I think I may have lost a few years of my life because of this incident.

Oh, he is a very big cat and pure white, too, so I figured he would stand out more, ugh.

I am glad you found him safe at home, even if it did take a few years off you.

Quincy likes to open drawers and climb in behind them and the other cats push them closed, or often there is a space under the bottom drawer etc, I always find him places like that

Thank goodness you found him before you pulled ALL your hair out.

Cats are experts at camouflage, regardless of color!

Bad Mochi for scaring mommy like that!

I bet he acted all amused and '
is going on' about all the fuss after you found him too.

Sorry, I've sort of become a Mochi follower...

Every now and then Riley hides (meaning he's off snoozing somewhere with no idea what panic it puts us through, lol). I still haven't been able to figure out where he goes because we can tear the house apart, upstairs and down and not find him. Usually at that point we start looking outside, just in case. Then we always come back in and there he is sitting there staring at us like we're crazy and wondering what all the fuss is about
