Here is a very simple and quick question:

Do you prefer going to the cinema to see a movie or rent one and watch at home.

I prefer to rent a movie whether it be from a store or On Demand.

Everyone have a wonderful Easter Sunday.

I prefer to watch movies at home. We go out to the movies maybe twice a year. We used to go like 2-3 times a month but it got so expensive and now movies come out on dvd within a couple months so we just wait.

Well since I used to work at the local movie rental store I won't set foot in there again. 1) ex-bullying boss still works there 2) I don't want to support that corporation with the stuff they pull on people 3) I know how the discs are handled - unless it's a new release and has only been rented out 2-3 times the movie you rent has a high likelihood of not playing all the way through without glitches. Being a former employee that didn't leave on the best of terms means I would be treated worse than other customers already are.

I suggest others know what they're local movie rental store is and don't support the large corporation ones due to how badly they treat their employees.

The local movie theater is fine, but costs so much we can't go very often. So I prefer to watch movies when they finally come on the movie channels that we already pay enough for.

I have Netflix, so we watch movies at home. Very rarely do we ever venture to a theater to watch movies. So many inconsiderate people go there. We saw SAW V at the theater, and a couple brought their infant into the movie!

Watching at home is more relaxing for both of us
And the snacks are cheaper too

One advantage of living in a huge metropolitan area is, ....a few $2 theaters are still around!! And luckily, one of them is just about 5 miles from our house. Woo hoo!! So, once a week, if there is anything good playing, we go there with our friends. As a matter of fact, last Sunday we saw The Hurt Locker there, and today we are going to see The Edge of Darkness. I pop up a bag of microwave popcorn and put it in a ziplock bag, and carry it right in along with a bottle or two of water.

Otherwise, we DVR movies on HBO or Cinemax and watch them at our leisure. Seldom rent anything.

If there's a movie out at theatres that looks good we'll watch it there. If it's an action or sci-fi it's better on the big screen.

Otherwise we have Netflix and watch movies from the comfort of our couch.

I will see a movie at the theater two or three times a year. I never watch movies on TV, and I never rent movies. I'd much rather sit down with a good book.

Home.

I don't go to the cinema often
(LOL, my mom says "cinema" (Didn't think anyone else did)) but if I do go, I need to bring earplugs because the volume's too loud for me generally.

I like "On Demand". I watched "Sherlock Holmes" (2009 movie) the other day for $4.99

I prefer to watch movies t home. I have Netflix(love it). I can pause a dvd if mother nature calls. I can eat and talk during the movie. And I can have a cat in my lap when I watch movies at home.

We also love going to the theatre, especially for the popcorn.
I hate going when it's crowded though, kind of ruins the experience for me.

I really like going to movies, but DH is a movie-holic. He will pay to see almost anything, and he can't watch a movie without a big tub of popcorn. We always go the the early (cheaper) show, but it still adds up. I go with him 90% of the time, but occasionally my back and/or knees give me too much trouble. Theater seats are not meant for sitting, and sometimes I can barely walk when the movie is over.
I have to be in the right mood to watch a movie at home; there are way too many distractions. On the plus side, tho, at least there's no line for the bathroom.

We buy them at the thrift store and watch them on our wide screen tv.
The popcorn costs too much at the theatre.
