Hi! Just came back from a week's visit to Japan. Always wanted to go there and this trip was fantastic since the timing was perfect. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and Mount Fuji was 100% cloudless. The weather was cold (for me anyway) but the thermal underwear helped.

Sorry that there are only a few photos. I am still tired and have not sorted out the more than one hundred pictures taken.

Lockers for your shoes when dining at a Japanese restaurant

Yummy sukiyaki (sukiyayi
)

Sacred deer in Nara

Cherry blossoms

Famous Akibahara (electronics/anime/etc)

Glad you had fun. I live in Okinawa which is very different, but i love sightseeing on the mainland too. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Those deer in Nara are a major pain. They will chase families with kids, investigate your bag and eat your tickets!

How beautiful! I am fascinated by Japan. My dad lived there and he loved it. And my cousin had a job as an English teacher there for a few years, though now she is teaching in Korea. Thank you for sharing and please post more pictures when you are rested.

I would love to live in Japan. I love everything about it. I'm a huge fan of manga and anime. Bleach is one of my absolute favorites. And of course there's the sakÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]

Great pics. I lived in Japan for 9 years, 3 of those years in the Tokyo area. We could actually see Mt. Fuji from our house but clear days on the Kanto Plain are so rare that we hardly ever saw it. I'd love to go back sometime.

Wow, I would have guessed they're super gentle and walk around sniffing grass and shrubs

Were you visiting friends or family there?

I passed up on a chance to teach at an English school in Japan when I was graduating from college. And I have a very good friend in Kyoto who could have given you a ride around there in his hot rod.

Thanks everyone! I know most of you are enjoying the vacation thread so I'll add a few more photos sort of like an intermission number.

Trying to figure out how to get a ticket for the bullet train. I finally rode it from Mishima station to Osaka.

Great pics! I'd love to go to Japan one day. I love the architecture of the old temples and palaces, just wonderful.
