I'm new here and would love to post pictures of my kitties and use one for my avatar. But it seems to be really complicated. I guess I have to be a member with a certain number of posts to be able to do this? And have a remote location? With other sites, I can just browse and attach a picture from my computer. Am I missing something?

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

You do have enough posts to post pictures of your cats, and to have an avatar but not to use a custom avatar
To upload photos to TCS, you need 100 posts and 30 days membership but in the mean time you can link to photos
http://tinypic.com/ lets you upload without an account but most people use photobucket.com

I read this post, but I still don't understand. Is there a way to upload from the computer rather than a remote site like Photobucket.

There is, if you have enough posts, you can add an image as an attachment but they have to be small and you don't get much upload space
