Hello all! My name is Jen and im recently married. We just bought our first house and its full of cats! We have a pure white cat named Zelda (hence my screenname)...she also has two different colored eyes. One blue and one gold. We have a pure black cat named Daisy and a new momma named Spazzy. She gave birth to 6 healthy kittens 6 weeks ago. We may keep one or two but most of them will find new loving homes when there ready!

Glad to be here! My husband is in the Navy and is deployed until August. I need a hobby haha.

How long is he going to be gone for, give or take?

EDIT: Nevermind, just went back and read your first post again.....duh...it's late, maybe that's my cue to go to bed.

Our deployment was 7 months long as well. I found out that I was pregnant a week after he left. Most of my time was spent hugging my best friend...Mr. Toilet, butother than that I watched a lot of TV, and cross stitched...oh and napped.

At least you have your kitties to help pass the time.

Welcome to The Cat Site, Zelda. First, a big salute to your navy husband. I appreciate so much all the military men and women AND the sacrifices their families make for the USA. God bless them all. It sounds like you have enough cats to keep you busy every day. You will have fun here and learn much.

It certainly sounds like you have a house-full - bet those kittens are running around like crazy
Will you be getting Momma and the babies neutered?

I also want to add i have two other cats who are my very old babies. There 16 yrs old but live about an hour and a half away with my dad. When I moved I was to afraid to take them with me due to their age and the fact that I moved into an apartment at first. There happy and healthy down there though!

Hi Jen. This topic caught my attention because we just left Jax (well a year and a half ago) and if all goes as planned then we'll be back in Jax in about a year and a half (though I've learned to expect that nothing will go as planned with the Navy.) This probably sounds stupid but it makes me happy to hear that there's another Navy wife who loves cats. I seem to be the odd one out here. I have no dogs and no kids, just my cats. I'd love to meet someone out here who didn't think I was a crazy cat lady
. Anyway, I'm new to this forum too and just thought I would say hi. I really miss Jacksonville so I got excited when I saw this topic!
