Found out today that a girl I went to school with up until I moved away my senior year was killed last night by another person I went to school with who was two grades ahead - he shot her to death in her home.
Its quite surreal to find out something like that. The victim was only 22. She was the nicest person you would ever meet - she didn't care what type of crowd you were in, she was kind to everyone. Her family used to bring their car to my dad for repairs and he said her entire family was that way. Of anyone that I'd guess something like that would happen to, she wouldn't even be on the list.
Its also shocking to know that I went to school with someone who was capable of murdering an innocent person - for what reasons, all of us are unsure of. It's been crazy seeing everyone's facebook statuses - the many of us who no longer live in the quiet town we all grew up in just stunned by this, (there'd been maybe 3 murders in the last 50 years that any of us have known about in that town) and that someone so full of life with so much going for her had life cut short.
Kind of depressing. RIP Alyssa
