So my two year old Ocicat, Holly, has always had a love of shredding t.p... which is why its now stored in a cabinet at all times...

Now, her favorite thing to do is unroll the paper towel roll (hung underneath the couter top cabinet!) and make a bed out of it on the counter
I was wondering where shes been sleeping instead of next to me.

At least she is using it for a good purpose I guess
, and honestly I never even get mad about the shananigans her and Kitty get into.

That's not as bad as Jack's paper fetish!

1. He got in our pantry and chewed thru cereal packages. So we put them in a large cardboard box. That got him mad so he jumped up on the top shelf and proceeded to tear/chew holds in the TP, paper towels, and napkins! Needless to say we have the pantry seal up now with a door with a double lock!

2. At a cat show in the hotel, we locked him in the bathroom while we were eating pizza with a friend in the room. He got mad and unrolled half of the TP and chewed holes in part of the roll.

Come to find out from his breeder, his grandfather did similar things. So Holly may have a relative that likes to do the same! Or maybe its just an "Ocicat thing"????

I also have a TP shredder.
Actually, Imhotep will shred ANY paper. I used to have to put all of my books up because he would even shred books but luckily he grew out of this.

I only have 1 shredding Ocicat out of 6.

She shreds any paper left around from bills to toilet paper to paper towel. She even went after the vets file while getting her examination this week

I think it's a trait common to many active intelligent cats who get bored easilly. I have to be very careful leaving anything paper lying around as Aya likes to shred anything: TP, paper towels, receipts, dirty kleenex, plastic baggies...
