In order to sort-of-encourage my cats to sleep near each other (Together would be best --but "that'll be the day"
), I made a little cove for Penny right next to Daisy's basket. I folded an old bedspread and placed the basket on top and positioned both flush with a boxy Ikea TV stand which you can't really see in this pic, but it's working. Penny's not really into baskets but she likes coves and bedspreads

You might have Cat Piles someday, you never know.

However it looks as though they do enjoy being near each other, with defined boundaries.

Here's to cat piles! I hope they do decide to get closer together.

They're both adorable babies.

That's pretty good! I usually only have my cellphone handy (which takes pretty rough looking pictures) whenever I catch Siri sleeping up against another cat. Since she doesn't let another cat within 4-5 foot of her when waking I need evidence it actually happens.

I hope they can keep it up. Maybe they'll shock you some day with actual snuggling and mutual grooming.
