Thanks,
No please don't. Senior cats need the same fid just less of it.

Really? My senior seems to need more food, but that may be a kidney issue, rather than an age issue. Sharky?

When I was looking at Senior foods, most were low calorie like "diet" cat foods. My senior definitely does not need low calorie food. We are just trying to keep the weight on him! (he has a form of IBD that is being managed, his kidneys/thyroid are still good)

Exactly, my senior girl is just skin and bones. Well, she's more than senior, she's 20!

As for calories it depends .... Many dare I say "early " seniors tend to be like middle age humans and needing fewer calories ... Older seniors may need more calories... There are foods that will meet both types of senior needs that are labeled senior... Does that help?

this has been my experience, too, I am always confused by these "senior" formulas that have reduced fat and calories.

Very much so...my "early" senior Clyde certainly doesn't need any extra calories.

no I was in a rush and didn't have time to read through the entire thread. why does everyone seems to react to my posts negatively?

I only own one cat, who is 4 so I can't totally draw from real life experience,

but I have a friend who has about 7 rescued cats, all of various lifestages, two kittens, 3 adult cats and the last two I think senior cats 10 years old or over. All eat canned and dry Innova and Wellness(haha she's rich , feeding innova to my one cat is a strain on the wallet :p). She's never fed individual foods to each cat.

don't worry about it, some people are just grumpy when they post or things don't come across the way they would if spoken instead of typed
