We sure need to respect Mother Nature!

The volcano in Eyjafjallajokull started erupting a few days ago. About 400 people were evacuated and no one got hurt (except for a drunk couple who decided to flee in their car. Their journey ended on a bridge post but they're okay
Last time Eyjafjallajokull erupted it lasted for two years (1821 - 1823) but there is no way of telling how long this one will last.

You can see a streaming video of the eruption here:

I was freaking when I saw the guy get so close. DS loved the video. He stopped playing with his toys to watch.

It gives me a choice (browse) of where to download, and none of the options I've chosen (windows media, real player, etc) will work.

It's okay though, I just went to youtube and watched it there.

Kinda wish Sesselja would come online and tell us how to pronounce the name of that volcano. I think I sprained my tongue.

LOL Jan, yeah try saying that ten times fast! I can't even say it once.

Wow!

I love watching volcanic eruptions...from a safe distance, preferably a continent or so away, but I love it nonetheless. It's just so fascinating to watch something like that

...I'll admit I thought the name in the title was a typo when I first read it, though. I can't even begin to guess how one would pronounce that.

yeah, that icelandic is something, on paper, isn't it? I just watched a couple you tube videos on "simple phrases in icleandic".

The language sounds foreign of course, but not as strange as the spelling would lead one to think!
