By all definitions, although she has the coloring of several different breeds, without papers she is "just" a domestic short-hair (DSH).

She looks like she's settling in well.

altho she strongly resembles the Russian Blue. in the cat fancy, gray cats are called 'blue', not gray. [check out the links for more info on each].

Hello and welcome to TCS, and to a life with a cat!

Your kitten is very beautiful but I do have some advice.

First thing to do is remove that bell on her collar. Cats have very sensitive hearing, and bells on collars bother them very much. They may "get used to it" but why should they have to, you know?

Secondly, make an appointment for her at whoever you have chosen to be your vet. Shelter kitties often have illnesses such as upper respiratory infections (URI) ear mites, and yeast in the ears. (I noticed her ears look a little dirty)

Many vets offer a free check up to kitties adopted from shelters (around here they do, anyway), though any medicines aren't free.

What's her name? Please feel free to stick around and tell us all abut her as you get to know each other.

What a beautiful baby you have there! Welcome to TCS!

First and foremost - THANK YOU for adopting this beautiful creature.

I always wonder if first-time cat caregivers think that a cat will act like a dog - I hope you don't. Each cat is an individual in his/her personalities, and by no means will be a dog. It's kind of like thinking a dog will act like a horse.

I really agree with what OTTO said, get rid of that bell.

I hope you plan on checking out the links at the very top of this web page, like
* Cat Care
* Cat Health
* Cat Behavior
where there's a lot of great information.

Also check out the posts from members (like Sharky) on pointers of a good diet for good health.

Welcome to TCS, and bless you for sharing your heart and life with your new kitty!

Wiping down the cat with a clean wet rag every day will help with the allergies.

Oh my... Russian Blue was my first thought too, especially when you said silver-tipped blue fur... and piercing green eyes. There is no way to prove it really, just that she is gorgeous!!!
