My female cat JuJu who is 6yr old was fine until Sunday. She stays outside 99% of the time, mostly up in trees. Today I found her in the ferns with flies buzzing around her. I picked her up and found a crusty patch on her side. It looked like "sawdust" and the "sawdust" was discharging out her behind (sorry for the too much info) I combed the crusty patch and found a hole (wound). I cleaned it as best I could and put antibiotic ointment on it. JuJu is lethargic and has lost weight and doesn't want to eat. But this morning I saw her drinking water. I put her in the laundry room where it is quite and dark. I have never seen anything like this in my life! Don't know if its a spider bite or what! Anyone have a guess? Thanks for the help!

p.s. I'm calling around to see if a vet can get her in fast.

Yes, JuJu needs a vet immediately. Sounds like a very serious injury. It almost sounds like she was covered in maggots. Do not delay another minute, please find an ER vet!

Welcome to TCS and please let us know what happens.

You don't need to be looking for an opinion here. Keep calling and find a vet or Emergency Clinic that will see your cat. It sound serious by how you are describing it. Keep us posted.

That was my first thought so I looked over her and didn't see any maggots, just a patch of "sawdust". Weird
