BIG spring storm!

It's only been snowing for about two hours, and supposed to continue all night:





Time for some hot tea, a good book, and the couch!!

It's pretty, though, but you can keep it all there. CO is beautiful all year round.

Gee, how did I know - without even looking at who you were - that you lived in the Denver/northern Colorado area??? :snow: :ice:

I heard the CDOT or Denver Transportation spokes-lady say that "they aren't expecting for the snow to start sticking until after 7:00, so they should be fine starting the plowing after rush hour." That was before 6:00 and it was a snowy, slushy mess on the roads. Close to a white out - definitely couldn't see more than 1/4 mile at the MOST!

Even my boss said, "Maybe we'll get a day off tomorrow!" as he was leaving the office. And he has a 2-ton truck!

I think I forgot I live in Canada this winter with the lack of snow, I can't say I miss it looking at those pics

Same here. Ours is just starting to disappear. And I don't need any more snow until at least October. And the kitties wouldn't like it either. They're anxious for spring so they can run around in the mud and make my floor dirty

Springtime in the Rockies - where a 20 minute drive will take 50. It is getting bad out there as it is thick and slushy. But we need the water.

After a couple of hours and a couple more inches, I tried to take some more pics (they didn't really turn out). Then I looked down at my balcony and nearly had a HEART ATTACK!!! Holland has NEVER, NEVER, NEVER shown an interest in my balcony, in fact she usually gets scared off when I open the sliding door. I look down after trying to snap a couple pics, and there's my little kitty, on my balcony, making little kitty footprints in the snow.

Luckily she ran in when I said "Holland!", but now I am picturing all the horrible things that could have happened had she jumped to the tree right outside the balcony instead of running inside. That was the ONLY time my girl has been (not in a carrier) in the great outdoors since I've had her.

I'm still shaking a little... And Holland is looking at me like, calm down, mom...

Ain't that the truth. There are very few days where I'm happy to be unemployed... tomorrow will be one of them.

Started raining around 1:30, snowing a couple hours later, and it was sticking immediately!! I'm in north Denver and we've got a good few inches on the ground.

I live near I70 and C470. I actually had to go out and tow my husband home! There was at least a foot of snow in the streets, and no snowplows! This was at 8 p.m.!

They finally came around and plowed our street. I say finally only because we are less than a block from a fire station so our street is one of the top priorities after the big, main streets. Thankfully neither of us had to park on the street. There is now about 1.5 feet of snow/slush/ice blocking those cars in.

I saw that most of the school districts have already called school for tomorrow/Wednesday. I'm going to take that to mean that I get a snow day too. Well, at least a 1/2 day. I do not want to deal with the icy-slushy streets and the idiots driving in the morning. You know how it is - instant idiot, just add water.

It looks so pretty but......you can keep it. I insist.

I'm glad Holland went back into the house.

Did you get a snow day Heidi? I work for the only City that never closes or starts late. Thank goodness I'm on vacation today! woo!

Our street is at the very, very bottom of the list to be plowed and most times it isn't. So the worst is usually going the 100 feet to the main road. For those who have to commute, I'm hoping that the plows were able to do a better job than they were doing last night (Highway 36 was a mess and I-25 was a standstill going over Surrey Hill).

Fortunately, I can work remote. But be careful to those who have to brave these messy roads

NEVER EVER get too used to what a cat does. They are always trying to figure out something new. Us cat moms have to be sure we are one step ahead of them. That includes "just cause they never did it before, don't mean they won't do it now." Glad your story had a happy ending.
