I went to a bellydance class!!!! It has been a loooong time since I have been in a room with that many women - I felt really awkward, but I had a good time! Hopefully I will start to catch on more in the next few classes!

Sounds like fun!

I'd dislocate something if I tried that! I have a large tummy so if I tried swinging that around I'd probably kill someone!

I heard that using a Hoola Hoop helps you isolate those muscles.

Good for you. I would be in the klutzy category despite how many times I took classes!

Well done!

You're far braver than me. A colleague's been trying to talk me into bellydance for over a year but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Bellydancing is not just for willowy, lithe types. There were all types and body shapes there in class - everybody was happy and non-judgemental and enthusiastically shaking what they have.

that's awesome! We have a regular belly dancer here on TCS and she loves the classes and said they're great exercise.

Now how cool is that! I've watched Shimmy on the Fit channel, but haven't tried any of the moves; I'm afraid I'd permanently throw my back out! I've heard, though, that belly dancing is a lot of fun.

Good for you hun!
Yes, that kind of thing is not about what body type you have but about being comfortable with yourself and the body you DO have.

WOW! I just thought I was being adventurous when I took up playing the guitar at 64 years old. Congratulations.
