Pennsylvania Falcons

There have been falcons returning to the Rachel Carson State Office Building in Harrisburg, PA now for quite a few years. The mama is there, along with two eggs; she laid the second egg last night. It's interesting to watch her as she settles down on the eggs via the live cam there. I hope I get to see the eggs hatch!

Oh, cool! I love watching live cams of falcons and hawks. We have red-tailed hawks in the city (several nesting pairs), and also falcons. There's a live cam on a hawk pair in Queens.

I remember when they brought back falcons to NYC to see if it would help with the pigeon population - the falcons seemed to adapt really well. The red-tailed hawks just came on their own!

So cool to have this going on in cities!

I remember red tail hawk watching in NY. It was hysterical, because there was a nest on Mary Tyler Moore's building - right across from Woody Allen's building. This was when the whole blow up with Mia was going on over .... Sun Yi? .... anyway, half the bird watchers were celebrity watching too.
