Okay....need help again. The five little kitties are doing well, but I just noticed that one of them has her eyes closed again. I think she might have an eye infection? I tried wiping them and they opened a little, but don't know if I need to do an (expensive) vet visit or if I can handle this at home??

Anyone dealt with this yet??

And they are two weeks old....shouldn't there be some poop or pee in the bed??

Mamma cat keeps them cleaned up.

The eye problem is common. You can wipe the eyes with some Opticlear solution, available at your vets or most pet stores. If they stay closed or show any signs of swelling or running, you should definitely see the vet asap.

Thanks!! It's the littlest one who was lost in the attic for a day, so I worry about her more than the others, I think...LOL!!

Ya, the eye infections are pretty common for kittens- usually the warm water will clear it up, but if it doesn't you can get special stuff from the vets or petstores

And, like mrblanche said, Mom will keep them all clean until around the time they start eating canned/hard food- then they'll start using a litterbox

One is all black like his momma......the other four started white but seem to be turning into Siamese....and all have blue eyes. Their paws are turning greyish and their ears are tipped with black. Guess the boy we thought was the daddy....wasn't...LOL!!! He was black and white.

Check out this website on colors. It is possible for two black cats to produce pointed kittens.
