As I was driving home a couple weeks ago, I took these pics with my cell phone because the mountains were so pretty.

Then I was driving home from an emergency trip to the office this morning. On Friday we had one of those spring storms with a lot of heavy wet snow which is almost gone here already. That's another reason I live here - yes, we get snow but it doesn't stay here all winter and spring! Anyway, the mountains were so gorgeous this morning with the (almost) fresh snow and not melted like the pics before, I had to pull over and take more pictures (there was traffic this time).

And that is definitely one of the biggest reasons why I live here in Colorado. The views are second to none - and we get to see these things every day!

What a beautiful place!
I live in NC because most of my family is here, and I like living in a coastal state that gets some snow.

As you know, I'm a Denver native. Lived in Lakewood, once upon a time. Moved out of Colorado in about 1968.

I live in Texas because I want to. We had snow last night, too! But it's all gone. And it was an extremely late storm, in a year when we are right at an all-time record for snowfall.

But the daffodils are already fading, the red clover is blooming, the bluebonnets are already fantastic south of San Antonio and coming this way fast.

And we don't have a state income tax. And, some say, we COULD secede from the U.S. if we want to.

I live where I do because my ancestors were here when the first federal census was done in 1790. These acres were part of a farm that has been passed down in my family for over a hundred years. My grandparents raised their children here. During the Depression they couldn't pay the taxes and the farm was sold on the courthouse steps. Three years later they managed to buy it back. They took in my daddy when our mother left and I was raised here. Finally my dad signed over the deed to us and we built a house here. I am finally home. I am not leaving.

I live here, because this is home.I was born and raised in Michigan.Moved to West Virginia in 1993,and have never looked back.
Hubby and I often talk of moving closer to his work--he drives 45min to an hour one way to work. But, West Virginia just holds our hearts.
The air is always fresh smelling, the mountains are beautiful here

I live here because I thought a small town would be best for mom.. Well I inherited the house and thus I live here.. though on a weekly basis I consider moving to a temperate climate

I live here essentially because I HAVE to. I am primary caregiver to my elderly mom. I am stuck... tho' I love her dearly and would do just about anything for her.

I am back in the house where I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit.

When Mom finally passes, I will sell the house and my condo -- if I can... and leave Michigan. I would probably move to New York to be closer to my brother.

I live here just because it's where I was raised, and I haven't thought about moving. Somehow with time Atlanta has grown on me, I really like living here. I love every bit of history that this place has, especially during the civil rights era..
Of course I HATE the traffic and the mosquitoes, but
I love the hot and humid summers and mild winters, though I wish the winters were milder, just because I am somehow cold blooded

Well, once I get out of school I might move to Miami because it's warmer there.

In the snow!!!!
I live here because my hubby lives here. He was born and raised here in Ohio and we are here. If I were on my own, I would be in Oregon with my family, SE Alaska somewhere, or Northern BC.

Not sure where you are in Ohio, but our national hot rod club's annual meet is in Dayton in 2011.

I live in NYC because I'm an actor, and....I love NYC!
I visited my cousin in the late 60's, and vowed, as I was going back home and the plane was taking off and I was gazing at the skyline, that I'd be back. I was actually crying! And in 1971 I moved here! The energy of the place is in my blood.

On the other hand, looking at Susan's pictures of Northumberland, reminds me of how much I love the UK, and if I had luxury money I would surely have a little cottage in Cornwall, or up in Scotland in the Highlands. England is the only other place in the world where, as I stepped off the plane for the first time, I felt like I was home. (NYC being the other place.)

Lots of stage - summer stock, dinner theatre, local Off-Off-Bdwy....the nature of the biz, unfortunately, is alot of unemployment.

But, the thing I love about NYC (trying to stay on-topic
) is there are many of us here, and when there are many unemployed actors at the same time, they try to do something about it, so I'm now a member of a brand new, fledgling theatre company....in NYC! Getting it off the ground, doing staged readings, getting all the legal stuff taking care of. The energy in NY for artists is particularly resourceful, I think - it's why I continue living here.
