Micro chip prices?

I have two Ragdolls that I would like micro chipped. I called my vet and he told me $40.00 for one. I did not mention the second cat. I know that he will give me a better price if I have "2" done at once. Is this price too high? I have read about $25.00 dollar micro chipping. How much did you pay?

Here it is $25 per animal or $13 if you adopt a stray and take it in. But that's at the Humane society. Have you checked to see if the Humane society in your area has a program? It's usually cheaper.

The humane society here does them for $15 each cat.

wow I think I will take my cats there to have it done! I just asked my vet about this and it was close to $100. per cat...times 7 cats, NOT going to happen! at least not til I win the lottery! maybe I need to ask about it again, the girl in the office that told me the price, maybe she was wrong?

Wow that IS really high. Maybe she meant for all of your cats??
