How far do you travel to work, do you drive, take a bus, a train and do you carpool. How long does it take you to get to work each day.

I am retired but when I was working I drove. The last job I had was a twenty minute drive in morning and a little more with the evening traffic.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I dont work but when I was working it was about a 10-15 minute drive with good traffic and could go upwards of being 45 minutes especially on football fridays. I hated it the whole stop and go aspect of traffic drives me bonkers. Now the only driving I do is when I need to taxi BF around places for supplies or grocery shopping and thats ok with me!!!

I drive to work most days. It's a 20-30 minute drive, depending when I start out. And most days it takes a lot longer to get home, but that's because I stop on the way to do the errands I then don't have to do on the weekend. Bus service is decent, but not spectacular, on the route that comes closest to home, and I use it particularly if there's snow, because we don't get enough for the city to be able to deal with it well, so I'd rather not put the car on the road.

I don't drive a car, but it's so easy to get anywhere frm my place. There's a bus transit three blocks away, and I can easily hop on my bike (in summer that is!) and go shopping. To get to school, it can take as little as twenty minutes if I power walk to the transit and catch a bus right away, and then if I'm really lucky there is a train waiting to whisk me away to my class. But usually I like to take my time.

I work at home so I don't have to commute; I usually walk places since this is a pedestrian-friendly city.

But my husband has what is considered a long commute here, 35 minutes, and our 11-year-old has to travel 60 minutes each way to school using city buses and walking (in the dark in the winter coming home) - no school buses here!

I drive to work, and with my current job it takes me anywhere from 10-20 minutes to get to work in the morning, depending on traffic, and a bit longer in the evenings to get home.

My husband and I are both now retired. My last job was about 12 miles from home, driving time was 20-25 minutes, varied based on traffic and when school is open and driving time slow due to school buses. There really isn't much reliable public transportation here, so you really have to drive to wherever you want to go.

It's a 7 minute drive to and from work. Barely enough time for the car to warm up in the winter. I guess that's why my car is 18 years old and only has 97,000 miles on it!

I live in Midtown Manhattan, West Side. It's definitely a walking-friendly city. One of my part-time jobs is about a mile away, so I walk it. Another one is uptown, so I take a subway, which, including walking from my apartment to the subway is about 1/2 an hour.

I pretty much walk everywhere - it's cheaper.
Either that or I take my bike.

I drive and now it's about 15 minutes to the office. But they are talking about moving. From the new place it will at least a half hour each way on a good day.

I am not looking forward to the longer drive. Not only because of the drive but they will move up my start time by a half hour. So I will have to leave much earlier in the morning.

In my decline I find it much harder to get moving in the morning. As it is I get up early so I can have breakfast and conversation with Chester. I am not looking forward to the change.

I shouldn't be complaining because in my younger days before I moved here, I would drive a half hour, take a 40 minute train ride then walk fifteen minutes to the office. I wish I could still be that mobile but I do not miss those days.
