She climbed right on my belly, curled up went to sleep and purred for an hour. Wouldn't that be cool if the baby could hear her purring? He probably can't but I thought about that. It was sweet. I hope she likes the baby, but she's not really a big lover girl usually anyway. She has to be in the mood.

Babies can hear our voices, so it wouldn't surprise me if they can hear purring, especially if the kitty is sitting on them!

See you are going to have a little kitty lover there hun! What a wonderful thing to have one of the very first experiences being listening to a kitty purr.

Oh, we're definitely going to have an animal lover on our hands! How could we not with me for his mother? (I keep calling the baby "him", even though we don't know the sex yet.) I think Abbey will love the baby, I'm holding out hope Cams will surprise us and decide to love the baby too.

Spaz became a lot more loving when I was pregnant. I think it's the hormones, they can smell the difference. Females seem to become more loving. Spaz wanted to be with me at all times. My ex-SIL's male cat wanted nothing to do with her while she was pregnant(of course her cat is a very viscous animal, he is scary. If he wasn't declawed I'd be afraid to be in the same room as him.) He however seems to do what males do, they can tell the difference and want nothing to do with it. This is just my impression, I don't know if it's the norm, with the sexes being divided like that.
