Now that spring has sprung (and apparently gone away again here in Minnesota
), the Squeakster and I have been going out onto the balcony in the evening to enjoy the spring air.
As soon as she hops outside, she'll spend a considerable amount of time rolling around on the deck. She does this on dirt too (which is why she doesn't get to go to the park very often, too much trouble to give her a bath each time).
Is there a reason she does this? I haven't observed too many indoor cats going outside, but my friend's cat did this too.
this is a video from last fall to demonstrate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_EtF-L0j2Q
So is she an odd duck, or just a normal kitty?

But they'll also roll when excited/happy - if you notice there will also be a lot of cheek rubbing during this, which spreads around pheromones.
