Just wondering if anyone else had a cat who uses her paw to pull food out of the dish to eat it? lol

I was silently watching my kitty Ezri and she went to her food dish, put her paw in it, pulled the kibble up the side of the dish then leaned her mouth down and ate it off her paw.. lol

These kitties are crazy and I was a little mad at them for completely annihilating my ipod earbuds (chewed them to heck!), but their cuteness never lets the anger last long.. =)

Oh, cats sure do have a way of making us feel guilty for being upset with them when they did something wrong! I think my four are pros at the kitty guilt trip
! Anyway, I'm sorry your earbuds got chewed up. Silly kitties!

A couple of my cats will occasionally eat with their paws. None of them do it exclusively, but I've caught a few of them doing here and there. I think, for mine, they're more apt to go that route when they're wanting to play. Of all of them, Finnegan and Cassidy do it the most. Cassie's just a food hog and I'm convinced she drags it out of her dish so she can hoard it and protect it from the other cats. And, Finnegan, well, he's just always looking for something to play with. He'd even play with his own poop if you'd let him! The others don't do it, but they're more dainty and lady-like anyway. Of course, a lady with etiquette would never eat with her paws
!

Yes, I've come to believe that all kitties are, indeed, a little crazy. Oh, wait, maybe it's me that is crazy. Hmm...this could be just another one of the cats' elaborate ruses to gain control and work toward complete world domination

I have had many cats in the past who have done this with their paws..it's so entertaining to watch them. One of my RB kitties, Patches, would hook her claw into a morsel of food and then fling it across the room, run and pounce on it!! I would reassure her that it was all ready dead! Bella is very serious about her meals so she doesn't play with her food.

I have read that using the paw as a hand is a sign of extreme intelligence in a dog or cat. I am sure we all agree if our cat does that.

I've seen most of my cats do that at some point, but no one does it regularly. The oddest behaviour I have seen recently is Splash 'stealing' water from the horses by dipping a paw in, licking it dry and repeating until he has had his drink; the rest, well they are just rude and smack the horses on their noses.

When Cammy and Abbey are eating at the same time (they do that a lot) Abbey takes her paw and hits some kibbles out of the dish for her, since their heads don't both fit.

Holland doesn't use her paws to eat... maybe if she did she wouldn't be such a dang messy eater!! I have no IDEA how she manages to make such a mess around her plate...

I have seen most of mine eat with their paws at some time. Dushka does it frequently, and for some reason, if I leave the tin on the side, will prefer to eat the same food out of the tin, using her paws, than I have just put in the dish.
