Hey Skippy, please do me a favor and add the word "Politicians" to the thread title please. Please don't forget to take the "s" off of Democrat(s) and put "ic" in its' place, please. That is how I should have titled the thread and I apologize to all who were offended.

Thank you much Skippy.

Has there ever really been an "honest" politician in any party? I think that would be considered an oxymoron.

I really believe that John McCain is an honest politician that loves his country and and wants what is best for this country.

I personally cannot trust a man who would cheat on a sick wife. If he could do that to someone he supposedly loves, what would he do to Joe Public?

American tradition has it that George Washington couldn't tell a lie, and Lincoln has been referred to as "Honest Abe". There are probably actually some people who believe it. There wasn't much in the way of media in those days, though.

Lincoln purportedly said:
"You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

That statement has also been attributed to P.T. Barnum.

And regardless of who actually said it, truer words are difficult to come by!

I like Pink, I thinks she calls it like she sees it.
Did you see her at that awards show when Kanye West acted all stupid and went up on stage and grabbed Taylor Swift's award away from her? I heard Pink got up and was standing in the aisle and wanted to kick Kanye's butt.
That impressed me.

I do know that, at that time, John McCain had been through 5+ years of torture at the Hanoi Hilton and he was not well himself.

I also know, when asked, during the Saddleback Forum thing that he and Barack did with Pastor Rick Warren, what his greatest moral failing of his life was, he said, in front of the world, that exact thing, his first marriage

McCain: My greatest moral failing — and I have been a very imperfect person — is the failure of my first marriage. It’s my greatest moral failure.
And his first wife endorsed him for President and never, EVER, said a bad word about him.

That was like 35 years ago, the time for forgiveness is way overdue I think.
Everyone makes mistakes in life. I respect a man that steps up and admits them to the world.

I saw the MTV video, she was doing more that waiting. She was on her way to deliver a whupping! Big bad Kanye's bodyguards had to run blocker for him to keep her from going all "sk8r grl" on him.

Did you know she used to skate competitively? The night before the AMA's, she and Carey "unwound" by getting a couple of boards and shredding NYC.

No, I didn't know that, that is so cool. She is definitely a girl who stands up for what she believes, for sure.
