Just before 6am this morning

He had termainal brain cancer which had spread from his rib bones and lungs, he progressivly got worse and about a week and a half ago he fell a couple of times during the day and then had a serious fall and hit his head on the table resulting in him having to go to hospital. once he was in hospital the doctors diagnosed a serious chest infection, right then we knew he wasnt coming home. He seemed to pick up a little bit but then rapidly went down hill, on Friday he was moved into a sideroom in the hospital and fell asleep, he was taken off all his medication and food and was made comfortable with the help of morphine, and sadly this morning as my dad (it was his dad) was leaving for work the hospital rang to let us know that he had passed away. in an awful way im pleased he has gone, it means no more suffering and no more pain, his last few days were awful and i hate to think he was hurting, so now he has been reunited with his cat marmie

My Dad and mam are with my nana at the moment so im not sure how she is, she has been understandably distraught the last few days, they were married 60 years, but she is a strong women shes a fighter.

Ashley i'm so sorry

60 years is a long time to be with someone, so even though it's been expected your nana will hurt terribly

I hope your Grandad has a swift crossing across the bridge

I am so sorry. Even though it was expected, and it is a blessing his suffering is over, it is terrible for your nan and dad especially. Good vibes for you and the family at this sad time.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your beloved grandfather. My condolences to you and your family. How wonderful though to think of him being reunited with his cat, both free of suffering.

I'm so sorry, Ashley. So very difficult for all of you, and only slightly better for the fact that it was not unexpected and he did not linger in pain for long. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
