IMO my friend I think is good if you have a "order" from your boss to leave pass your partner......& you can see in the last race Fernando was more quicker than he....

Felipe at this point have not opportunity for the persoanl championship, so HE MUST to fight for the points of the Constructor Championship-...
I repeat,..IMO....

I guess your right Rigel but even still would of been nice for MAssa to get a win on the anniversary of him being nearly killed last year just my opinion

Good point! It would have been neat, no matter how unrealistic, to see Ferrari make that "sacrifice".

As an aside, have any of you been following the technical side of things, where McLaren's engineers have basically admitted they don't know how Ferrari and Red Bull's front wings work, and that they can't get their blown diffuser to work? I'm surprised at how forthcoming a manufacturer, at the forefront of technology, is in saying those things. Why say anything? And where is Gordon Murray when you need him.

haha why would they admit that

it does make interesting reading though

It almost makes me wonder if it's a sort of "humility-based" PR strategy, to get them into an underdog role. I personally feel that McLaren still has a black cloud hanging over them from the last few years with the "Ferrari technical data" incident, and other assorted missteps.

Nothing makes you look like a naive simpleton more than admitting you dont know what the hell you're doing.

Absolutely! I've also sent my application for chief aerodynamicist to McLaren. If there's not an opening, there's a good chance there soon will be.

I don't give a rip about Red Bull, but this is probably the first season I can remember since the Mansell/Piquet & Prost/Senna years that you have this sort of intense inter-team rivalry between two quality drivers (or at least, two decent drivers in a quality car). It's shaping up for a great stretch run, assuming McLaren find a bit more pace with which to keep themselves in the mix.

Feels like 1986 all over again. Now that was a season to remember.

You missed a great time in F1, aj. 1000 bhp turbo engines with unlimited qualifying boost. Super-wide slicks. Actual stick shift gearboxes (gasp!). Marginal safety regulations. Professor Prost with his crooked nose, ruthlessly tracking down Gerhard Berger for his 28th win. Mansell's 'stache. Senna's focus. Absurdities like wooden skid blocks and grooved tires not even a passing thought.

Amazing how you take something for granted, when it's so perfect. The images of this era are emblazoned in my head forever.

Even though it's a pretty small thread we have going here, what are everyone's unforgettable F1 memories?

Vettel may be a "great kid" and all, but he's looking more and more like a numbskull. Oh, and, as far as the Speed analysts...a "racing incident" betwixt him and Button? Really? That doesn't happen if he doesn't perfom that impatient little, "Oh, why don't you just move over so I can get around you" wag before the corner. Really, Seb, juking to the inside that late into the braking zone...'cause you're just so much faster?

He's really starting to tick me off. And becoming a whiney little brat as well. Hard to believe he was silent this time when they informed him of this week's drive-thru penalty. "Why, oh, why?!?!" Perhaps Red Bull paid Speed to only broadcast a one-way transmission to save him the embarassment.

But enough of that. Hats off to Lewis and all three podium finishers in general. Nice stress-free interview session with lots of smiles.

Dominant performance, for sure. You know, sometimes I wonder about Button's ability to put his head down and really go after it. You just get the impression that he concedes positions too easily after he's passed.

Funny, before the race, I was saying to myself how nice it was to not be hearing Lewis' name all season in connection with dumb mistakes. That's pretty much been Red Bull's job all year. And then he tries to tuck his car in a spot where's there's absolutely nowhere for Massa to go, two corners into the race. Thats was just ridiculous.

Lewis, Lewis, Lewis...you were in a position where all you really had to do was be competitive and FINISH for the rest of the season, and you had it locked up.

Oh well. It was a few years before Senna learned that lesson as well, and he still had the occasional dumbfounding moment (Monaco '88).
