I have noticed this odd thing about Bella's whiskers that I wonder if anyone can relate to and/or explain...Whenever I am rubbing her belly and she is almost comatose from bliss; her whiskers are always bristled and pushed out forward. I mean more so than usual. It looks so odd and I wish I could explain it better. The whiskers on the left side of her nose are pushed so far out that they actually touch the whiskers on the right side!! It must be a sign of absolute joy because of the intense purring that accompanies it. I am a firm believer that cats can communicate many moods with their tails. Could this be another method of expression? What'cha think???

Yes, cats communicate a lot with their whiskers. In their normal mood, whiskers are held on the side (slightly forward). When they are happy or curious about something, they will move forward. When scared or disgusted, they will move backward, sometimes flat on their cheeks. It makes sense that when your kitty is really happy, his whiskers are moving forward a lot!

Cats can tell us a lot with their whiskers and their tails (not to mention their eyes and their ears). This is something I learned after adopting my baby.
They are very complex creatures.
