Where to find a black light?

Cammy (pretty sure) peed where the litter boxes used to be. We bought a black light bulb and put it in a lamp and it didn't work at all. Nothing showed up. I even put it on a pillow, to test it, and nothing showed up. What kind do I need? I showed her the litter box and I think she's using it. I make sure she pees when she's in there, so I know she's not trying and nothing's happening. Now my bedroom smells like cat pee, because I can't find where the spot is. I have enzyme cleaner, because I was afraid this would happen when we moved the box.

I bought a cat light, with a built-in flashlight, at PetSmart. It also came with some spray. Works great! I think it was about $20. Additional benefit is that it also detects husbands pee around the toilet!

The bulb shaped ones are just painted glass, you need a fluorescent tube type. You should be able to find them over by the light bulbs and lamps at walmart. Petsmart and/or Petco sells a little compact fixture and tube together - or at least I recall seeing one in the past.

I found something like that, but only around six inches long, at walmart around Halloween many years ago - for $9? I think. I still have it but need to replace the batteries.

I wonder if they have one at petco...they were closed early since it was a sunday. My DH might be able to run to petsmart on his lunch. My poor girl. At least we got the bedroom switch done early. I didn't want to do that to close to when the baby came and give her a double stress-out.

Petstores usually do have them

Ok, here are a few options, from Amazon:

This is a very good one....

And this is a more traditional one
...

I have the second one, it works ok, but the room needs to be completely dark. The first one is a newer technology. If I had a do over, I would buy the first one... The reviews are much stronger too...

Anyways... Those are the type of things you need... It's great for everything... It actually shows how nasty your pillow or blanket can be at times...

I would rather not see that! I hope I can find one in a store so we can clean it up quickly. I don't want Abbey following suit.

Check those out, so you can see what to look for But a good one will show you all sorts of nasty organic stuff... yuck!
But it also came extremely handy in controlling Lucky's ringworm!

I actually found mine, a pet one, at the local Fleet & Farm/Ace Hardware. I was quite surprised.

That's what I was thinking... Because they use it to find scorpions...
