She isn't little anymore. She loves no one but me, if someone else holds her she thrashes to get away & runs to me. Cute, but not getting her adopted. I her, everything about her is purr-fect - even her flaws & im-purr-fections.

My little chatterbox

She's beautiful, Nat! I think I can hear all the boy kitties on the forum gasp.

Beautiful!! If I could, I would adopt her in a heartbeat. Although from the looks of her I'd have a hard time telling Gumby and Holland apart... Though Gumby's ears are a bit bigger AND she has teeth...

Just had to post this ... here I am, with KiKi on my lap while I'm going through the RSS feed threads from this site ... KiKi is all black, too

KiKi was just laying in my lap, and I was petting him, ... then, when this thread popped up with the picture of "Gumby" he jumped to the monitor to check her out !! It seems he highly approves of her too.

I had to share this encounter because it was kinda amazing that he (KiKi - aka Kingdom Kitty) would all of a sudden want to meet her.

Our black cat is the absolutely most loving cat we've ever cared for - and "Gumby" will choose her caregiver - but, alas - seems like it may be you.

Yeah, when feral kitties decide to trust, the people that they trust usually number one...maybe two. To her, you are everything. I've had friends who have never seen JinJin. One of my neighbors has been here for five years, and only the other day did she catch sight of Jin. When I'm alone, she's completely different. That's not to say that when placed in a new home they won't love someone else...they will eventually. It just takes a special person to give them a break.

It is hard to give up a kitty that you've helped change from a terrified kitty to a confident and loving one, though. They always hold a special place in your heart.

She's beautiful. She looks like Aya but black. You can see she's got a lot of purr-sonality from her pics.

Aya is also sadly a cat who like one one person -me!

She's so scarede of strangers she runs and hides behind tehf runiture when she hears my doorbell ring.

I gotten her to slowly mellow to 2 others, but you're right it will take a patient black cat loving person to take a chance on her, unless its you.

She's so gawgeous! When I played her video, my Raven was quite smitten with her (and yes, he's all black, too). She's a heartbreaker.

I second what Kelly (clixpix) said, but they do learn to love when that special someone comes.

I had one who was like that, she would either freeze when touched or run and hide but would sit on my lap and let me rub his tummy. We had a pair of cats come in, found in a field but obviously brothers and pets. They were not so bonded that we made an effort to keep them together but not long after one was adopted someone came back in to take the pair.

He knew he wanted a second cat to go with the brother, so we worked our way through the shelter and the scared feral let him pick him up and adored the guys wife. He took some time to settle in their home but now he is a lap cat with them.

The problem is no one wants to take a chance on Gumby. They don't want a cat with "issues". We have so many people come in & comment on her video/pics on Petfinder ("she's adorable!"), but the idea that the cat was once a feral & will take time to adjust is appalling to them. They don't get it that this cat will worship the ground they walk on once they gain her trust. They want a kitty who they don't have to put any work into. (Get a stuffed animal! )

Gumby has so much in common with my Holland! She was hard work, but it has paid off tremendously. Oh, I wish I could take her!!!

Well, I know you wouldn't want someone like that taking her anyway - their loss. Of course, there won't be any adoptions on Halloween, either - hopefully she will have a new and loving home before then.

I almost hate to say it... but I think she's already home.

She is really adorable though, she has a 'classic' look to her.

This is true about people not wanting to take change or work on a cat they adopt... or a dog for that matter. That's why my Casper came a whisker's breath away from being euthanized. He took ME three months of hard work and a couple of serious bite wounds to get him to come around. And he is just the sweetest boy... but I think he is a one person cat. Right now it's me, but I think he could adjust.

My thoughts exactly. In all the pictures you can see how happy and loving she is.
