Windows 7 Explorer problem

We got a new PC for my BIL and I've been setting it up. However, I have run into a weird problem that Internet searches have not helped me with.

I want to copy the folder, Australia, from Folder A to Folder B.
Folder A
.....Australia

Folder B
.....United Kingdom

Windows 7 asks me if I want to merge Australia with United Kingdom. I don't understand why it is doing this when they are folders with 2 different names?

try holding down the Ctrl button while you drag n drop

you'll notice a tiny + sign

as i understand it, + means copy

I have tried doing the copy with the CTRL-C and CTRL-drag and drop. What I don't understand is why it is saying that it wants to merge "United Kingdom" into "Australia".

I have never come across it, I would probably try renaming the folders

Well, I took this suggestion and can you believe that the darn thing still wants to merge to that folder even when it is a different name? I'm going to just copy the files under the folders to get this piece of the setup done.

Another solution, if you eventually have to move to 7, is to just not use Explorer. Nothing says you have to ever use the default file manager and desktop, it's just that most people do not know any better.
