Where we live is very hot right now - above 90 degrees. I keep the house pretty cool since I work at home. We are going on on vacation for a week, I have a neighnor coming to feed them twice a day. And I prefer to keep AC off so that we are not cooling down the whole house while we are not even home. Will they be ok in the house without the AC? The basement is always cool so they can escape there...

Also, the cat and kitten likes to eat each other's food. Tiki the cat is overweight and is on weight control food and Tigger is 12 weeks old is on kitten food and supposed to eat a lot. But they have been insisted on eating each other's food. When I am home, I feed them small meals throughout the day in separate rooms. I don't have the luxury to have the cat sitters to do that while we are away. Anyone has any ideas to keep them eating somewhat properly?

Don't know if this will work, but here's a suggestion. Put the kitten's food inside some kind of housing with a small opening that only the kitten could go through. Maybe just a cardboard box or something. And for the big cat, put the food up high where the kitten can't get to but the cat can jump up (he'll also get a little exercise!). Hope you can find a solution.
