Apparently, my kitty thinks she can fly! My tortie decided to try and jump on the HIGHEST shelf in my house!

Naturally, she missed, did a half flip, proceded to hit the computer desk below, which finished her flip for her, before landing on all fours, screaming as she was falling!!!!

She then went and hid, thinking she was in trouble, because she knows she's not supposed to be up there!
I was just worried about her!

She's fine, no injuries, fulling extends all legs and walks great, but it sure scared the poop out of me!

After the initial shock of "OH MY GOSH IS SHE OKAY!?!?", and making sure she wasn't hurt, I just started laughing my head off at this ambitious kitty who thought she could fly 8 feet up to this shelf!

Torties... what can I say... I love 'em... they are SO energetic.... not the brightest bulbs in the 40w box..... very sweet and loving....

LOL!!
Silly kitty!

Goodness, they can be such daredevils huh? Glad she is ok!
I have a couple who like to find the highest possible point as well.

lol...that reminds me...one time Cammy was trying to step from the entertainment center to the coffee table, maybe FIVE inches away. She completely missed the coffee table, smacks her chin on it and lands on the floor. She's a calico...not so much with the smarts either sometimes. They sure scare you don't they? It was pretty funny after I made sure she was ok.

Max was always like that, trying to get higher and higher. He could jump fro the floor to the shelf in the bedroom closet. I am glad your cat is just shook up and not hurt.

LOL, yeah the little fart is back to her old self. She always follows be around meowing, especially in the morning when I'm getting ready for work... she's sprawled out beside me right now... she stinks, I think she smells ROTTEN!

I don't know what it is about tortie, but they are very vocal and energetic!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who laughs at my babies when they do something stupid!
At least cats are overall smart creatures.... sometimes....

My Holland is not the most graceful of cats... she has fallen off my dining room table a time or two. Or 12...
She always starts grooming herself like she did EXACTLY what she meant to do. "Really, mommy, falling off the table was how I WANTED to get down."

She's also lately taken to climbing to the top of my entertainment center (about 7 feet high when she gets on top of the speakers I have up there). She has gotten down safely every time, without my help, so I am starting to NOT have a heart attack when she goes up there... it still freaks me out just a little bit, though. Yes, I am that mom.
