Hi everyone - it has been some time since I have come to the forum. Just a little recap of what brought me here in the first place

My husband and I rescued to feral kittens last year (Moley & Scarey) and since then they are happy and healthy house cats!

Well, 3 weeks ago we saw this stray tabby in our front yard. We put a shelter out for her as well as food. After 5 days of feeding her we were actually able to have her come to us for petting. The discovery was that she was literally skin and bones so we brought her in the house. Took a trip to the vet the next day to have her checked out as well as tested for leukemia and also bacteria in her stool and all came back negative. The Dr. recommended no shots because of her heath state. She was quarantined from my other 2 cats for 2 weeks and for the last 4 days has had the run of the house.

Since she has been in the house I have noticed that her little tummy gurgles and she has gas as well as soft stool. I have put her on a rice and boiled hamburger diet as well as pedialyte in her water (2 days). She still has a gurgly tummy and her stool is still soft (not runny). She is a little playful and quite loving and constantly purrs. She is also gaining weight nicely and although she is around my other girls they have not really accepted each other yet. So, my question is this: Should I keep doing what I am doing? I read that it takes some time for cats that were malnutritioned to get 100%. Any advice is greatly appreciated and a big thank you in advance

How wonderful of you to rescue this baby, ALONG with your others!

More than likely she is just getting used to the new GOOD food and her tummy is adjusting. Here's sending vibes that she'll be just fine in no time!

That is what I thought as well. She is still adjusting to having food at her beck and call!!
Oh and by the way, my new baby's name is Jaime

I agree - she's probably just adjusting. There are cats that have digestive issues - but I'd give it another couple of weeks and see how it goes.

As to your other kitties.... just give it time. Cats are territorial, and some accept newbies faster than others. We've always had issues with our female-female introductions. Make sure to give your existing girls lots of extra attention, always feed them first, give them treats first, play with them first... and I'm sure they'll work it out.

You can search on introductions - there are lots of tips that can help them associate her with good things (scent swapping being primary).
