I missed this before, too. I'm glad he's doing better. Have x rays been done to check for blockage?

I'm glad to know he's pooped some now, but I wonder if there's more in there, built up. X rays may show more, and possibly ultrasound after that.

Nice update, Jenny. Obviously, still not 100%, but I'm glad to hear there's been some improvement. Keeping everything
that the progress continues. for Wellington.
for Mum.

He is much better today, did a really big poop last night, and immediately chased Biscotte all over the bedroom - I let her in as they were really missing each other and I thought he was well enough to have company. For the first time last night they slept together as they are used to, on the bed. For a week he has just wanted to be left alone. He is eating better too.

He is still on Tofladine anti-inflammatories, and a mild laxative. Both tablets will end tonight. The crunch will be what happens to his temperature after that. But he is definitely feeling better and will go to the vet tomorrow for a check.

Just back from the vet. His fever seems to have gone but he remains very constipated. So no more antibiotics or anti-inflammatories. He would not eat much this morning, and is very clingy. They did an ultrasound, but couldn't find anything wrong except the constipation. He has lost 15 grams (around a quarter pound) in a week - not much but a sign he is not eating properly. I have a different laxative to give him and must take him back in two days, enough time hopefully to restart his system. He did eat when he came home though, a good sign.

Sending more vibes for Wellington

Its frustrating when they are sick for no obvious reason. Hopefully once his constipation is sorted out he will be back to his old self.

Isn't it funny how such things can make you happy? At 15.30 this afternoon he had a good poop, after two doses of Laxatone paste. Poor boy, I have had to squirt it into his mouth and he hates it, as he won't eat it on his food. But it seems to work. He will have another dose tonight, as I think there is more in there. When I cuddled him today he turned over to have his tummy rubbed, and really went crazy with purring when I really rubbed and kneaded hard, trying to manipulate whatever is stuck inside. He seemed to know it was doing him good. His fever has not returned, so I feel much more optimistic.

He seems almost his old self this morning, is walking round the house, looking out the windows, and welcoming the attentions of Biscotte. He has eaten well, too. So I will not post again unless there is a development. Thank you all for your interest and vibes - I know many of you have followed Wellington since he and his brother arrived as starving kittens on my doorstep over five years ago.
