I just finished my last drop of water and morsel of food until tomorrow morning

I'm having a cholesterol test done tomorrow and I can't eat or drink anything for 14 hours!

I figure I'll go to bed around 7:30 or 8:00 pm, and then hopefully sleep through the night. It's going to be a long 14 hours!

Why 14 hours? Usually mine asks for 8-10 hours.
Good Luck. Mine is coming down without medication. I think the benefiber is working for me.

Yes! 14 hours! It's written on the requisition.

Usually during a cholesterol fast you can drink water, but I was told explicitly that I shouldn't. I'm going to have a 1/4 cup before bed anyway. I can't go 14 hours without drinking. I'm on blood pressure medications and if I don't stay hydrated, I get super light headed.

I know how you feel.
I had to go through the same thing before blood tests a couple weeks ago. The first thing I did after the tests was get myself an EXTRA large coffee.
Good luck with the test!

I had to do that a few weeks ago. Mine was no food or drink after midnight and I went for the test around 8:30am.

Good luck with the test. When I went for tests last November my cholesterol was off the charts. I have been on crestor since November and when I went for my testing 3 weeks ago my cholesterol is normal now.

Good luck with your test....I hope everything is OK for you. It's pretty much standard for a cholesterol test.

DH's cholesterol is high, but only marginally. I've never had cholesterol problems. (I have high blood pressure though.)

Ugg I HATE fasting tests!!! I understand exactly how that goes
I hope you're able to get some sleep and not starve before all of your tests tomorrow
(Maybe you can chew on some gum to take your mind off of things...that's what i do!
)

It's 7am! In 90 minutes I'll be at work an having my blood drawn. I keep a box of cereal at work, so I'm taking a thermos of milk and I'm going to pig out on Special K with Red Berries!!!

Hope your bloodtest turned out okay. My dr. is always after me to take the cholesterol meds, but I keep telling him no.

Good luck - I usually have a fast blood panel about 1-2 a year (diabetes) - but it's usually only twelve hours, I can have water, and I make darn sure to go out for a nice breakfast afterwards. In fact, March 27 is my next one - 10:00 am appointment, so I think I'll have a late dinner the night before, sleep in the day of, and try not to look at the cats' food too longingly when they get fed!

I hope it isn't higher but lower than last time. Have you tried increasing your fiber intake?
