Well, DH had his Social Security Disability Hearing in front of the ALJ yesterday. All in all, we feel it went well. The judge asked DH several questions and then asked me a few. The most interesting part was when the judge was asking questions from the vocational expert. He asked about DH's jobs that he held in the past and if he can still do them. She stated NO. Then he asked about jobs that someone with his education could do, and there were a couple. The most telling question was then asked. He asked her if DH, given his age and condition, would be able to work a full 40 hr work week and she said NO!!!!!

That is when the hearing ended. It is now a waiting game while we wait for the decision to come in the mail. I don't want to get my hopes up but that last question gives me hope. We could use continued vibes and prayers for a speedy decision!

I hope the judgement finally goes in you favor!! One of my co-workers is having foot surgery next month and thought she could apply for disability as she will be off work for 10 weeks minimum. I thought of your situation (and thought to myself "its not going to happen").

I just wanted to let you know that if the decision is favorable, you will probably hear from your local Social Security office before you get anything in the mail. I just had my Disability hearing last Thursday. The next day I got a call from my SS office because they need to do a phone interview to update my "non medical" issues. I got my packet in the mail with the decision yesterday. So, kep an ear out for the phone cuz you just might hear from them before getting anything in the mail.
