Vibes For My Big Boy...

I feel like such a bad mommy! I took Saban, my 13 pound male, to the vet today because he's been regurgitating his food for a few days now. He didn't do it every time he ate, but enough to make me worry. So I took him and they X-rayed him to see if he had a hairball or maybe ate something he shouldn't have. It turns out he was full of poop and had to have an enema. I feel so badly because I watch the litter box constantly and he's been going once a day so I thought he was ok in that department. We now have some lactalose and sd w/d to transition into. Vet says he needs to lose a couple of pounds. He's mad at me now because they had to wash his bottom and it's still wet and he can't get comfortable

Aw, poor guy! I think that is the curse of the older cat. So many of the seniors I have had, eventually get this to some degree.

Does he eat wet food? Try to get more liquids into him, maybe a cat fountain to encourage more water.

I hope this clears up for him.

Vibes being sent! Don't feel badly hun, you did everything right. You took him to the vet when you became concerned and he is being treated.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Both cats used to eat wet food but when Lil Bit was put on c/d, it was hard to keep her away from it! I do have a water fountain though that they both love. I'm not sure what caused his problem unless it was the food. I put him on Nutro Natural Choice Weight Management about 4 months ago. Maybe he had problems digesting it and it backed up on him? He seems to like the w/d though and has already used the litter box

Thanks again for the responses!
