Hey everyone! so I've been noticing lately that my cat's had this weird type of sneeze going on. I'm not sure what it's related to. At first I thought it might have been dust or my cigarette smoke, so since then I've made it a point to dust every day or two, as well as pick up electronic cigarettes (I was googling nicotine patches/gum and came across http://www.cigarti.com). She's still sneezing though and I'm pretty concerned about what it might be. Has anyone had this happen, only to find out that they had an outdoor allergy or something? Thanks

Dusty has been sneezing all day, too, with no apparent other issues. I've wondered about spring allergies.

I must preface this by telling you that one of my cats has feline herpes and is prone to upper respiratory infections and nasal issues. However, every single time a front comes through, she starts sneezing. Also, both of my girls, one with herpes one without, will have allergy type reactions to seasonal changes that include sneezing, runny eyes, itchy eyes and itchy ears.

Wow, I never thought of that. Dusty sneezed the entire day the other day - with no other symptoms - and since that day - nothing. And, there was a front coming in. Really makes me wonder ...

My girl Josie is experiencing this now and I do think it's the changing seasons. She doesn't have a fever and doesn't sound congested. Just very sneezy. She's been sneezing the last couple of days. Her appetite so far is fine. What can I do to comfort her and hasten the departure of the sneezing? She gets 500mg of Lysine daily. Should I increase it meanwhile?

You can do that, increase the lysine to 500mg twice a day (1000mg). I also give Hannah 1/4-1/2 tablet of Claritin (loratidine, 10mg) daily. I use the generic Wal-Mart brand. It dissolves easily in water, so I add about a teaspoon of water to her wet food, drop the pill in, let it dissolve, then stir everything together and serve. Start with 1/4 pill and see if that helps.
