I know someone here must use it! I just bought some (CoverGirl brand) so I thought I'd try it out tonight, kinda excited since I really don't buy makeup often. I open it up and it's sparkly! ...?! Is this normal for mineral makeup? I'm not sure what to do with it now, I dont think the store will take it back if it's opened but I'm more for the natural look as opposed to the shimmery look. I guess I forgot why I never buy makeup

I have been using mineral make up, I do like it but it doesn't cover as well as the liquid foundations do. Actually I bought mine from the Home Shopping Network. It is called Pro-Minerals and the color is Bella Rosa. It is not real shiny but it does have a very slight glow, it's pretty tho. The thing about shopping on HSN is you can send anything back within 30 days and get a full refund. The next time you buy mineral makeup, look for the matte finish. You can always tissue off some of the excess to get rid of the sparkly look .

I used to use Everyday miners and Bare Minerals mineral make up, but I stopped because it doesn't last as long as liquid foundation..
I don't think it's supposed to be sparkly, but if you bought it from a CVS or walgreens or rite aid or any supermarket they should take it back even if it is opened, I've returned foundation before because it turned out the wrong shade.

If you want to avoid sparkle go with Clinique mineral foundation- Superbalanced Powder Makeup- which you freshly grind yourself in by turning the rim on the round dispenser/container, or Bare Minerals Matte. Both are nice. I think Clinique's is a very good value, considering how much you get. It costs more up front, but you get a lot more product for your dollar. I highly recommend it. I use Clinique with Bare Minerals moisturizing mineral veil, or regular mineral veil.

I bought the Clinique makeup four months ago and am still using the same one, and I use it every day. It really is a good value. It's starting to wear down a bit, but I'm guessing I have another 3 weeks in the container.

Edited to say that I though the Loreal was pretty sparkly, as is Neutragena and regular Bare Minerals. I haven't tried Covergirl. Bare Minerals developed Matte to help the ladies who don't want the sparkly minerals in their makeup. I still stand by Cliniques as being the best!

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I stay away from the mineral makeup. It just didnt do it for me. Ive tried different stuff but always go back to Neutrogena Tinted Moisturizer. Its amazing it gives anywhere from full to light coverage and its the only brand that makes makeup in the exact shade I need!!

I've tried the Pure Minerals and for me it would look nice (after a LOT of buffing) for an hour - after that, I looked like I had no make-up on. I need a pretty good amount of coverage and I'm super oily. Unfortunately didn't work for me. I wish it did!!!

I tried the Cover Girl. It wasn't really sparkly after you applied it. I tried the LOreal, it was ok. Of the 3 that I have tried, I liked Physician's Formula the best. You have to use a good bit of it, but has a nice finish and stays pretty well. It is the only kind of makeup I have ever been able to use during the summer.
