What do you want to hear first??? Goldilocks' real name is Cleo. Her family moved to New Mexico 5 months ago. She ran off while the moving men were there and they searched for her for days. They finally had to go. They had flyers up and contacted the humane society and animal control about their situation. My vet spoke with the daddy on the phone. My friend started sobbing. I told her we could go and rescue a cat. That there was a cat out there just waiting for her. Then 45 minutes ago my vet called me and informed me that her owners had called back and said that they didn't want Cleo anymore. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My friend is still sobbing, and I'm getting choked up as well. Cleo is now Goldilocks again. Our emotions have been up and down so much in the last 24 hours that we are exhausted. My only advice to my friend is: Put Up Some Screens In Your Windows.

Now that is a story of "meant to be"

I would imagine it would have been tough to get the kitty from where you are to New Mexico and the old owners are just happy to know that their kitty is safe in a new loving place.

I think you have a win/win situation there

Congrats to your friend on her new kitty.

I agree 100%. It sounds like Goldilocks' former owners were good parents, and now she has a new loving home, a new chapter in her story!!

Not only did your friend get a new fuzzbutt, but her previous owners know she is safe. That is definitely good news/good news!!

I love this story. That was a smart little cat to. He was determined to be a house cat and set about finding him a forever home.

I keep coming back to this thread because it is SUCH a great story. I wanted to add that it sounds like Goldilocks' previous owners, even though they'd moved away, DID take some time to deliberate on what to do about the little girl. I can't help but think that they wanted her back, but due to the distance involved AND the fact that she'd found a great new home, they decided to let her go. Sounds like little Cleo/Goldilocks has been doubly blessed.
