Does she look big to you?

Is it me,or does Ms.Brindle look big to you? She is a feral kitty whose been coming over to my house every day to eat.

Last week i saw her "tanning" herself on my deck. So i took some pictures of her. I noticed that she is looking a little large...

Could she be pregrant again? Last year she had a litter of 3 orange kittens all males. I took in one and took the other 2 to the vet to be adopted out.

We cannot take in more kittens this time. So mom and i are thinking that we should catch ms.brindle first and let her have the kittens at the vet...OR, let her have the kittens here and then wait a few weeks and then try to catch them all. What do you think?

Here are some pictures of Ms.Brindle. The first picture is of her with the orange kittens last summer. The second picture is Ms.Brindle now.

I wonder what color her kittens will be this time?

If she's not spayed, then, yes, she's definitely pregnant. ALL unspayed cats who have been exposed to a male are pregnant right about now. If she remains unspayed she'll have 2 litters a year, every year, until she dies.

It's best to catch her before the babies are born. If you wait until they're crawling around it'll be harder to tame them. If you can keep the litter until they're big enough to adopt out, that would be best. Vet's offices have sick animals coming in and that's risky for baby kittens.

If it were us, we'd trap her and get her to the vet to find out what's up and how far along she is. If she's not pregnant, definitely have her spayed!!!!! Have her treated for fleas and parasites if possible - and if she's too far along to spay, if you have a room into which you can release her and keep her while she has her babies and nurses them, they'll be much easier to adopt out if they've been socialized from the very beginning.

And if she is pregnant and has the kittens, then she should be spayed after the kittens are adopted out, before you let her back outside.

The kittens ought to be adopted out at around 10 weeks old. It's best if they're with her for 12 weeks - but coming into kitten season, it's easier to adopt them out when they're a little smaller.
