What a great poem. I have often tried to "write out" my feelings for my kitties but I always get choked up and have to stop.

xoxo

Thanks,
I have tried to write poems for Yoshi and Stormy who I lost 2 years ago but can not do it anymore.
They were pts 1 month apart.

I have never put any to sleep although we had planned to have my old man put to sleep if his health continued to decline but it was the night before my graduation I held him in my kitchen and sang him his song and hugged him and told him I was okay if he was ready to go, and hanging around for me was no big deal.

He took me seriously and decided to depart on my graduation day. If I could have done one final thing I would have high fived him. He was always up to something.

I have learned not to grieve so long but to rejoice their lives. It makes it a lot easier to get over.

What a beautiful tribute to Patches. I cried as it is a perfect description of my feelings in losing first Max and more recently Speedboat. I guess we will never forget them.

I'm sitting here sobbing. What a beautiful poem!! Only a cat lover could express that love so perfectly. What a lucky little girl Patches was to have had you in her life.

Thanks Everyone,
I wrote a few other poems also.
One was for Stripe who was a feral we saved and I kept.
She got borderline breast cancer at age 4 and beat it but then she got CRF and I lost her at age 11.
I also wrote a poem for my Lucy that died from a leukemia shot and a poem for my other Patches that was a feral we saved.
She died from ARF waiting for a blood transfusion.
